PaXyn10A could hydrolyze birchwood xylan and beechwood xylan efficiently. Hydrolysis products at 30min were mainly XOSs with DP 2-10, and XOSs with DP 4 and 7-10 were then converted to xylobiose, xylotriose, and xylopentaose during 12h (Fig. 3a, b). In addition, oat spelt xylan was hydrolyzed by PaXyn10A to yield XOS with DP 2 -8 at initial 1 h. After incubation for 12h, xylobiose, xylotriose, and xylotetraose were the major final product (Fig. 3c). PaXyn10A hydrolyzed X5 and X6 to produce mainly X2 and X3 as well as little amount of X4 (Fig. 3g, h). It hydrolyzed X4 and X3 to produce X2 and X3 as well as trace amount of xylose (Fig. 3e, f. Further, the enzyme couldn't hydrolyze X2 (Fig.3d).
