Με μήκος 13 χλμ και μόλις 1 χλμ ανατολικά του κέντρου της πόλης του Ρεθύμνου, δίπλα στο ενετικό λιμάνι της πόλης και τον μοναδικό φάρο, ξεκινάει η παραλία του Ρεθύμνου και καταλήγει στην περιοχή της Σκαλέτας.
