Ιδιαίτερης σημασίας είναι το έργο του Ευάνθη Χατζηβασιλείου Στα σύνορα των κόσμων: H Ελλάδα και ο Ψυχρός Πόλεμος, 1952 – 1967, το οποίο αναλύει την υψηλή στρατηγική της Ελλάδας την εν λόγω περίοδο. Ωστόσο το έργο αυτό αφορά ευρύτερα τη θέση της Ελλάδας στον κόσμο και πως αυτή διαμορφώνεται την περίοδο του Ψυχρού Πολέμου ενώ δεν αναλύει διεξοδικά τις σχέσεις της χώρας με τους βόρειους γείτονες της. Από την άλλη το έργο του Σωτήρη Βαλντέν Ελλάδα και Ανατολικές χώρες, 1950 – 1967: Οικονομικές σχέσεις και πολιτική δίνει έμφαση στις οικονομικές και εμπορικές σχέσεις της Ελλάδας με τις χώρες του ανατολικού μπλοκ. Επιπρόσθετα ο Βαλντέν στο έργο του Ελλάδα – Γιουγκοσλαβία: γέννηση και εξέλιξη μια κρίσης και οι ανακατατάξεις στα Βαλκάνια, 1961-1962 εξετάζει μεμονωμένα τις διμερείς σχέσεις των δύο χωρών για πολύ λίγο χρονικό διάστημα. Αξίζει να ληφθεί υπόψη το γεγονός ότι και τα δύο βιβλία εκδόθηκαν το 1991, περίοδος κατά την οποία τα πλείστα αρχεία ήταν ακόμη κλειστά, έτσι και τα δύο βιβλία δεν μπορούν να διεκδικήσουν την πληρότητα.
