Ο παραθαλάσσιος οικισμός του Άγίου Παύλου βρίσκεται 58 χλμ νότια του Ρεθύμνου, δυτικά της Αγίας Γαλήνης, στην άκρη του Ακρωτηρίου Μέλισσα. Φτάνετε εδώ μέσω των χωριών Ακούμια ή Σαχτούρια.

Αυτή η παραλία θεωρείται από τις πιο όμορφες της νότιας ακτής του νομού και το θετικό βρίσκετε στην ηρεμία αυτού του τόπου, που ενδείκνυται για οικογενειακές διακοπές. Η παραλία είναι με πολύ ψιλό βότσαλο και χαρακτηρίζεται από τα κρυστάλλινα νερά της. Καθώς θα βρίσκεστε εκεί για να κάνετε το μπάνιο σας μπορείτε να δείτε τις Πτυχώσεις Αποπλύστρας. Οι πτυχώσεις των βράχων στην Αποπλύστρα, ανάμεσα στον οικισμό του Αγίου Παύλου και τους Αμμόλοφους, είναι εντυπωσιακά πολύχρωμες και έχουν προταθεί για να ενταχθούν στα διατηρητέα φυσικά της Ελλάδας.
