Παγκράτιο το παράλιο, Κρίνος της θάλασσας ή κρινάκι της άμμου. Το συναντάμε σχεδόν σε όλες τις ελληνικές αμμώδεις παραλίες, έχει μακριά λεπτά γκριζοπράσινα φύλλα και πανέμορφα λευκά άνθη όπου μυρίζουν έντονη φρεσκάδα.

Έχει μια ιστορία, σχεδόν μυθική. Βρέθηκε σε τοιχογραφίες που έγιναν πριν 3.500 χρόνια στο Ακρωτήρι της Σαντορίνης και έχουν διασωθεί στην οικία γυναικών στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο.

Το κρινάκι της άμμου φύτρωσε ξαφνικά σε ένα παρτέρι που υπάρχει έξω από το κατάστημα μας στην Καλντέρα στο Ημεροβίγλι. Φαίνεται πως ο αέρας, την περίοδο της αναπαραγωγής, μετέφερε τα μαύρα ακανόνιστα και πολύ ελαφριά του σπόρια. Το φυτό βρήκε τις ιδανικές συνθήκες, πολλαπλασιάστηκε και τα φύλλα του το κάλυψαν και το στόλισαν σχεδόν ολόκληρο. Αυτή ήταν και η αφορμή για να δώσουμε στο κατάστημα μας, το όνομα, Sand Lily.

Το κρινάκι της άμμου βγάζει τα φύλλα του τον χειμώνα. Το καλοκαίρι ξεραίνονται και τότε βγαίνουν μέσα από τη καυτή άμμο τα άνθη του. Λευκά, αρωματικά και τεράστια που ανοίγουν αργά το απόγευμα προς το βράδυ.

Ελάτε, να εμπνευστούμε από την ομορφιά τους και την αρμονία τους, να το μυρίσετε και να το φωτογραφίσετε γιατί αρχίζει να γίνεται σπάνιο, ιδιαίτερα στις παραλίες με σημαντική ανθρώπινη παρουσία.
