Τη ζωή όμως δεν μπορούμε να την προβλέψουμε. Έναν σύντροφο τον επιλέγουμε, ενστικτωδώς και όχι με λογικά κριτήρια, κάνουμε μια συναισθηματική επιλογή. Τα σημαντικότερα είναι τα συναισθήματα που έχουμε για τον άλλον, η χημεία που υπάρχει μεταξύ μας, το πόσο ταιριάζουν αυτά που μας αρέσει να κάνουμε στην καθημερινότητά μας και βέβαια το κατά πόσον συμπίπτουν οι κοσμοθεωρίες μας, τα όσα πιστεύουμε για τη ζωή και περιμένουμε από αυτήν. Δεν αντιμετωπίζω τη σχέση, από απόσταση, σαν ευκαιριακή σχέση. Την αντιμετωπίζω με σοβαρότητα και αισθάνομαι ασφάλεια και ευτυχία μαζί σου. Προσπαθώ να μεταδώσω και σε εσένα τα ίδια συναισθήματα. Το να έχεις μια σχέση, από απόσταση ,σημαίνει ότι δίνεις μια πραγματική μάχη με το ελεγκτικό και παρανοϊκό κομμάτι του εαυτού σου. Θα πρέπει να υπάρχει εμπιστοσύνη και ελεύθερη βούληση.
