The concept of violence, threat and alienation has occupied the German art scene since the beginning of the 20th century, as seen for example in New Objectivity (Neue Sachlichkeit) projects. The artists drew the themes radically from the social and political realities of the time and aimed at the cold depiction of everyday life, the corrupt post-war society and scenes of the dark side of life, while strongly criticising the oppressive society and the socio-political establishment. Violence scenes are even more systematically depicted in art in the 1960s, when, in the context of the escalation of the Cold War climate and the emergence of the early student uprising against the establishment aimed at social restructuring, the mechanisms of legal violence have developed significantly.<br>
