Η εικόνα της φωτογραφίας προέρχεται από ένα ελληνικό τοπίο, που κυριαρχεί η θάλασσα και το έντονο πορτοκαλί χρώμα του ηλιοβασιλέματος. Η απουσία της ανθρώπινης μορφής φορτίζει ακόμη περισσότερο το έργο εντείνοντας το συναίσθημα της νοσταλγίας των μεταναστών για την πατρίδα τους. Αντίστοιχο είναι και το έργο «Το ταξίδι» με μια φθαρμένη καφέ βαλίτσα τοποθετημένη πάνω σε ένα τραπέζι, πέτρες, σχοινί και μία ξύλινη σανίδα με καρφιά. Ο Ψυχοπαίδης σε αυτό το έργο τονίζει το συμβολικό χαρακτήρα της βαλίτσας, όπως παρατηρείται αντίστοιχα και στο έργο του Ακριθάκη, όπου η βαλίτσα είναι συνώνυμη με το ταξίδι και τη φυγή.
