Ταυτόχρονα μελετήθηκε η σύγχρονη γερμανική πολιτική ιστορία προκειμένου να αναλυθούν τα έργα τους με βάση τις κοινωνικές και πολιτικές συνθήκες της περιόδου στο Βερολίνο, προσέγγιση που δεν είχε πραγματοποιηθεί προηγουμένως. Επίσης από την έρευνα σε ιδιωτικές συλλογές και αρχεία εντοπίστηκαν έργα τα οποία δεν έχουν μελετηθεί και δεν έχουν παρουσιαστεί σε εκθέσεις ή στον τύπο.
