Η βασική φάση της πολιτικής ποιότητας «6 Σίγμα» είναι η εφαρμογή, καθώς επίσης η επιλογή και η κατάρτιση των επαγγελματιών που ασχολούνται με την συγκεκριμένη πολιτική. Πάντως, τα τελευταία χρόνια έχει αναπτυχθεί μια συγκεκριμένη ορολογία σχετικά με τους ανθρώπους που χρησιμοποιούν την μεθοδολογία έξι σίγμα.
