Κατά τη διάρκεια της δικτατορίας συναντώνται οι πρώτες φωτογραφικές επιρροές στο έργο του Ψυχοπαίδη από την καθημερινότητα στην Αθήνα που κατακλύζουν την επικαιρότητα. Εικόνες της ένστολης καταστολής, του πορτρέτου του δικτάτορα Παπαδόπουλου και οι πολιτικές εμπειρίες ενσωματώνονται στα έργα του αυτής της περιόδου, που με ειρωνεία και λανθάνοντα σαρκασμό ο καλλιτέχνης ασκεί κριτική στο δικτατορικό καθεστώς της Ελλάδας.
