Άλλη μια χώρα, όπου τα Χριστούγεννα

Άλλη μια χώρα, όπου τα Χριστούγεννα γιορτάζονται με ασυνήθιστα υψηλές για την εποχή θερμοκρασίες. Οι Βραζιλιάνοι, στολίζουν το δέντρο τους με κεριά και τοποθετούν κάπου κοντά και μία φάτνη. Πριν φύγουν για τη νυχτερινή εκκλησιαστική λειτουργία της παραμονής των Χριστουγέννων, στρώνουν με κάθε επισημότητα το εορταστικό τους τραπέζι (cena), προκειμένου να δειπνήσει η Αγία Οικογένεια, όταν εκείνοι θα απουσιάζουν στην εκκλησία. Το μενού περιλαμβάνει ψάρι αλλά και την παραδοσιακή γαλοπούλα καθώς και μπόλικη σαμπάνια. Τα δώρα των παιδιών φέρνει το βράδυ ο Papa Noel και τα κρύβει στα παπούτσια τους αλλά και σε διάφορες γωνιές του σπιτιού για να ψάξουν να τα βρουν το πρωί. Μόλις ξυπνήσουν, ετοιμάζουν ένα πλούσιο πρωινό για τους γονείς τους και ανοίγουν με ανυπομονησία τα δώρα τους. Κατόπιν, γιορτάζουν την ημέρα των Χριστουγέννων με βόλτες στην εξοχή, βαρκάδες και πικ νικ!
